In recent years, significant economic reforms have been undertaken in 
Uzbekistan to develop an economy based on a market economy. At the center of 
these economic reforms is the development of a competitive economic environment. 
This article will examine the problems that hinder the creation of such an 
environment and offer solutions for the development of competition. 
To assess the competitive environment in Uzbekistan's economy, we conducted 
a comprehensive review of existing literature, analyzed economic data, and 
surveyed experts in the field. These methods allowed us to identify key issues and 
potential solutions. 
Developing a competitive environment in the economy of Uzbekistan, like in 
any other country, can be a complex process that involves various challenges and 
requires well-thought-out solutions. Here are some of the problems and potential 
solutions to promote a competitive economy in Uzbekistan: 
Problems: Monopoly and Oligopoly: A limited number of large companies 
dominate many sectors of the Uzbek economy, leading to reduced competition and 
potentially higher prices for consumers. 
Solution: Encourage competition by implementing and enforcing anti-
monopoly regulations. Facilitate the entry of new players into these markets and 
support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to compete. 
Bureaucracy and Corruption: Cumbersome administrative procedures and 
corruption can deter businesses from entering the market and hinder competition. 
Solution: Streamline bureaucratic processes, enhance transparency, and 
implement strong anti-corruption measures to create a more attractive business 
environment. 
Access to Finance: Many small businesses in Uzbekistan struggle to access 
financing, limiting their growth potential. 
Solution: Develop mechanisms to provide easier access to credit and financial
