Name: Soliha Baxtiyarova. Subject: Methodology of language teaching. Teacher: Rima Olimjonovna. Group: 311a. Article Review I reviewed two Articles which are called An Analysis of Language Teaching Approaches and Methods and using innovative methods of teaching foreign languages. Both of these articles describe the methods needed to learn the language. In the first article tries to analyze several most influential teaching approaches and methods: Grammar-translation Method, Direct Method, Audio-lingual Method, Communicative Teaching Method, in order to have a better understanding and application in the future teaching practice. In the second article we can see the variety approaches which are Suggestopedia, Communicative language teaching (CLT), grammar–translation method , Immersion, The Lexical Syllabus, The audio-lingual method, The direct method. It focuses on the origins and development of methods, and gives some grabbing information about in general what methods they are. Based on this, both article writers discussed methods.we can see that almost all the methods in the article has peculiarty features and plays a great role learning foreign languages and they are the most beneficial, important, amusing and easy ways to learn a language. I will quote a one of the approaches from the articles as a proof of my statement which is the communicative method. This communicative teaching method aims to make communicative competence the goal of language teaching, and develops procedures for teaching the four skills that acknowledge the interdependence of language and communication. It encourages activities that involve real communication and carry out meaningful tasks. It believes that language is meaningful to the learner supports the learning process. It is no doubt that the communicative method developed quite fast, it dominates language teaching in many countries because it not only makes language learning more interesting, but helps learners develop linguistic competence as well as communicative competence. if we come to the conclusion of the writer: the quality in the classroom is based on planning lessons and courses, understanding learners, managing this lesson, knowing the subject, managing resources, assessing learning, interacting ICT, taking responsibility for professional development, using inclusive practices, promoting 21st century skills and understanding educational policies and practice. Each of the different methods has contributed new elements and has attempted to deal with some issues of language learning. However, they derived in different historical context, stressed different social and educational needs and have different theoretical consideration. Therefore, in teaching practice, in order to apply these methods effectively and efficiently, practitioners should take these questions in mind: who the learners are, what their current level of language proficiency is, what sort of communicative needs they have, and the circumstances in which they will be using English in the future, and so on. In a word, no single method could guarantee successful results are their opinion. I have learnt one significant thing from this article.l suppose Author gave us a lot of ways of teaching and informations about methods and styles of other teachers and I think teaching way of these teachers are very different from each other. However, all of this approaches is not perfect. These language teachers created their teaching ways, techniques even their conditions with their pros and cons.I came up with one suggestion that every language teacher have to make up their own teaching way that will shape their circumstances.
