Steps of programming - 
Programming is the process of designing, writing, testing, 
debugging and maintaining the source code of computer software. Below are the general 
steps involved in programming: 
Problem identification: This is the first step in programming. It involves identifying the 
problem that needs to be solved with programming. 
Algorithm development: After identifying the problem, the next step is to develop an 
algorithm that solves the problem. An algorithm is a set of step-by-step instructions that outline 
how to solve the problem. 
Coding: This is the process of writing the code using a programming language. The code 
should implement the algorithm developed in step 2. 
Compilation: Once the code has been written, it needs to be compiled into machine 
language that can be understood by the computer. 
Testing: After compilation, the program is tested to ensure that it works as intended. This 
involves checking the output of the program against the expected output. 
Debugging: If there are any errors in the program, they need to be fixed. This process is 
called debugging. 
Maintenance: Once the program has been developed, it needs to be maintained. This 
involves updating the code to fix bugs, add new features, or make it compatible with new 
systems. 
Overall, programming involves a logical and systematic approach to problem-solving, 
and it requires creativity and attention to detail to develop efficient and effective solutions.
