Annotation: The development of science and technology and the
development of any field in general has always been associated with terminology.
The article deals with different perspectives on this concept and also analizes views
of different linguists on the terminology.
Keywords: term, terminology, field, science, unit.
Despite much research in the field of terminology, it is one of the most
pressing issues in modern linguistics. Many researchers have suggested that the
common language of terms is a large part of the vocabulary. In a particular field of
speech, of course, there are terms that are specific to that field. The existence of a
particular field requires that the terms of that field be formed. The field of
terminology has a special place in the construction of any language. The full
development of a language depends on terminology[1].
When it comes to terminology, there are different perspectives on this
concept. Terminology and terminology have always been the subject of research by
linguists, as well as many other experts in the field. Different views are expressed
on the concepts of terminology. On the theoretical issues of terminology, D.S. Lotte,

V.P. Danilenko, S.V. Grinyov, V.M. Leychik, O.S. Axmanova, A.V. Superanskaya,
T.S. Pristayko, O.Yu. Linguists such as Shmelyova have conducted their research.
D.S. Lotte defines "terminology" as a general regulated system of terms[2].
V.P. Danilenko defines "terminology" as a general system of specific terms
related to various fields of science and technology, and these terms perform their
functions in professional field communication. Danilenko also argues that
"terminology" can be understood in two ways: first, terminology in the narrow sense
is a general system of terms related to one field, and second, terminology in the
broad sense is a general system of terms related to all areas [3].
S.V. Grinyov also defines "terminology" as a system of terms used in a
particular field, and speaks of the need to regulate specific vocabulary. The linguist
states that "terminology" until that time served to express three different concepts,
namely, "the system of terms in a particular field," "the system of terms of language,"
and "the science of the study of terms." [4]
V.M. According to Leichik, "terminology" is a system of terms that emerges
spontaneously during the development of science [5].
Dictionary of Linguistic Terms, edited by O.S. Akhmanova, considers
"terminology" as a special lexical layer of a particular field[6].
A.V.Superanskaya, N.V. Podolskaya and NV Vasilyeva have pointed out a
number of meanings of "terminology": 1) a system of many indefinite terms; 2) a set
of terms (concepts or terms) of a particular field of science; 3) the study of the
formation, structure and functions of any term in general; 4) the study of the special
field of science, the formation, structure and functions of terms used in a particular
language and their equivalents in other languages; 5) general terminological study
[7].
In Uzbek linguistics, a number of scientific researches in the field of
terminology have been conducted and the research is continuing. Uzbek scientists
H. Zarifov, U. Tursunov, S. Ibrahimov, S. Usmanov, S. Akobirov, H. Jamolkhonov,
Q. Zokirov, O. Usmanov, M. Mirzayev, E. Nazirov, N. In the works of Mamatov,

N. Kasimov and other scholars worked on this field and their opinions on
terminology are expressed in their research.
The peculiarity of terms allows to be distinguish one unit from the other units
of language. In general, at certain stages of development of science and technology,
the more types of science and technology are available, the more groups of terms are
formed. In each group of terms in the same field, the different independent theories
are described and terminological rules of this science are divided into as many
groups as there are different terminological systems.
In her doctoral dissertation, based on the derivational-semantic principles of
ecological terms, X.D. Paluanova identified three basic terms that are sufficient to
distinguish terms from common words[8]:
1. term - a linguistic unit, a word or a combination of the language of
production, science and technology as a special type of general language;
2. term - a specialized name of a concrete thing-object, thing, abstract
concepts;
3. A definite definition of the term is necessary, which allows to express the
content of the relevant concept more precisely, to distinguish one concept from
another, and at the same time to place a certain concept in a certain classification
line.
So, based on the above considerations, we consider the unit that forms a
