The bar chart compares the number of six countries’ students who studied in Australia in the years 2019 and 2020.
Overall, it is clear that the number of students from three countries - India, Nepal and Vietnam studying in Australia increased, while the others - China, Brazil and Malaysia decreased. China, however, despite a slight decline, it still remained the top country in terms of students count in both years.
In 2019, 182,325 Chinese students studied in Australia, which the highest number on the chart. This figure, however, witnessed a fall with 167,568 students in 2020.India was the second country on the list with over 92,000 students in the beginning. The number of them grew by the next year, accounting for about 108,000 students. In 2019, more than 46,000 Nepali students studied there, and the following year, their number increased to more than 50,000.
When it comes to other countries, there were 19,564 Malaysian students for studying in Australia in the beginning, which the lowest number on the chart and the number of them slightly grew by the next year. Such counts were also observed in Brazil and Vietnam, the highest number for them was approximately 23,000 students in 2020.
