Adjectives are divided into qualitative and relative classes based on their meaning. By using specific terms to signify things like opinion, color, size, form, or physical quality, taste, smell, age, origin, material, qualifier, or purpose, qualitative adjectives convey the characteristics of nouns. English words such as "good," "broad," "small," "thin," "thick," "fat," "smart," "green," "blue," "red," "little," "large," "dry," "pale," "glad," "happy," "hot," "sick," "ill," "long," "fluent," "blended," "sharp," "high," "little," "right," etc. Katta, keng, sariq, semiz, qari, tez, teng, tentak, tekis, tetik, tik, tinch, tirik, tortinchiq, achchiq, sassiq, shirin, mazali, bemaza, iflos, and yorug' are examples of Uzbek words. The system of three member opposition, which includes positive, comparative, and superlative degrees, is used to indicate the various degrees of attributes of things and people denoted by nouns. Morphologically speaking, the positive degree is unmarked. If the thing or person being described by the subject is not being compared to anything, then the adjective's fundamental form indicates simple quality: He's a smart young man. She is stunning. If anything is compared to something else in English, it means that the two items being compared are of comparable quality. David is just as witty as Mike. David is just as clueless as Mike. Both languages morphologically mark the comparative degree. In English it expresses a higher or less degree of quality of the thing expressed by the subject in relation to the thing with which it is compared. Depending on the length of the adjective it is formed by two ways: 1) By adding the affix –er to short adjectives: long-longer etc. 2) By putting the words more or less before long adjectives: beautiful-more beautiful, beautiful-less beautiful etc. In Uzbek it is formed by adding the affix –roq to the adjective: uzun-uzunroq, chiroyli-chiroyliroq etc. The affix –roq means a little/a bit more or a little/a bit less: Uzb.;Meri Annadan chiroyliroq Eng.:Mary is a (little) bit more beautiful than Anna. The positive degree and the positive and comparative degrees are equivalent in Uzbek terms. Compare: David is intelligent = David aqlli. Mike is less intelligent than David Maykday aqlli. The superlative degree reflects the greatest (least) degree of the quality signified by the adjective stem with the suffix -est and the English and Uzbek word structures most+ adj. and least+adj. Mary is the most attractive young woman. — Meri eng chiroyli qiz Devid eng aqlli bola (David is the smartest boy) Additionally, simultaneous acts are denoted by the English conjunction "no sooner..., than... " It is the opposite of "immediately." In English: She felt someone else's presence as soon as she stepped inside the building. U binoga kirar-kirmasdan, u yerda yana kimningdir borligini his qildi is the phrase in Uzbek. By comparing the usage, we were able to determine that the grammatical construction in Uzbek is unique and utilized as a "participle." Additionally, both English and Uzbek nouns have a zero morpheme in their singular form. In both languages, the suffix is used to create the plural form. It should be highlighted that the second language being compared views adjective classification as problematic. Consequently, there are several methods for grouping them according to their classification. Download 14.43 Kb. Do'stlaringiz bilan baham: |
