Tashkent
Tashkent is the beautiful city. It is the capital of Uzbekistan. It takes up an area of 220 square kilometers and its population is about 3 million people.

Tashkent is a city of gardens and flowers, a city of numerous shady parks and artificial lakes.
The climate in Tashkent is continental with a dry, long summer and a short winter. Tashkent is an industrial city. There are lots of mills and factories in it. The capital of Uzbekistan is often called a town of peace and friendship. The whole country remembers and earthquake of April, 1966, that struck Tashkent. The people of different nationalities took part in the reconstructions of the city. Volleyball

Volleyball is played on a ground or in a gym 18x9 metres diveded in half by anet. The top of the net is 245 metres above the ground for men and 2.25 metres for women. Each team has 12 players, 6 of which are on the field playing against. 6 of opponents team at the same time. The rest of the players change place according to the captains or coaches will the same as in basketball. Each game must be won by 15 points and with amargin.

Football (or soccer) is played almost throughout the world. In Uzbekistan it is the most popular of all games. The game is played in the streets, parks, playground etc. We have big league games wich is real sport and division games too. Each team consists of 13-15 players, 11 active and 4 benchers. One of the players is the goalkeeper. The rest are field players, 6 for words, three halfback and two fullbacks.

2. The national flag of Uzbekistan is a right –angled colored cloth consisting of three horizontal stripes: blue, white and green colors.
Blue color is the symbol of the sky and water, which are the main sources of the life. Mainly the blue color was the color of the state flag of Amir Temur.The white color is the traditional symbol of peace and good luck, as Uzbek people say ‘oq yo’l’. Green color is the color of nature and new life, and good harvest.Two thin red stripes mean the power of life. There is a newborn moon, which means the newly born independent republic.There are twelve stars which mean that there 12 provinces in Uzbekistan.

I was born in Bukhara. It is my native town. It is ancient and very beautiful town. There are 2 parts in our town: the new part and old one. In the new part there are many new buildings and modern shops. Most of school and hospital are situated in the new part. Here are also situated the University, Technological and Medical Institute, plants, factories, colleges and others.
The old part of our town is the museum in the open-air. All ancient monuments are situated here. Such famous monument as Minaret Kalyan in known all over the world. A Lot of tourists come to our town to see our famous Ulugbeks medrese, Nadir-divanbegi medrese, Mokhi-khosa, Ismail Samani and others. I like my town very much.
Fitrat was educated at Istanbul Madras­ah and University. As he knew Arabic, Farsi and Turkish, he could read the fa­mous books of Asia. Because his father was a man of trade, they stayed in Kashkar until 1918.
Fitrat went to Turkey in 1909 and studied at the university until 1913. His first lite­rary works were published there.The professors of the university were astonished by his capacity and poetic talent. He was given the pen-name Fitrat, which means "wise". Later he worked as an editor at an editorial office.
He wrote a lot of poems, novels and plays. He wrote the textbooks "Uzbek Literature" and "Uzbek Language". He wanted his people to be educated. He called on his people to become educated.In 1937 Fitrat was accused of being an enemy of the people and was arrested. After this date the fate of the writer is unknown.The destiny of his works was equally tragic.
In 1991 on September 25 he was posthumously given an Alisher Navoi Republic State Award for his great contribution to Uzbek literature.
