The table illustrates the manufacturing and consumption of potatoes and in five parts of the world, namely South and Central America, Africa, North America, Europe, and Asia in 2006.
The table data clearly shows that in South and Central America, the amount used potatoes 23.6 kg for each person. In Africa, this numbers a bit lower than in South and Central America, approximately fifteen kg for each person, to be exact. In North America this numbers higher than the above two countries 57.9 kg for each person. In Europe, these numbers reached the highest score in the world, in other words, almost a hundred kg per person. In Asia, nearly a half quarter kg of potatoes for each person.
South and Central America's potato manufacturing was not as high as Africa, with 15.6 and 16.4 million tonnes in turn. In North America this number a bit higher, namely 24.7. Another two continents namely, Europe and Asia this numbers higher, than other continents at 126.3 and 131.2 respectively.
Overall, although potato consumption in Asia was not as high as in other continents, Asia was one of the leaders in the production of potatoes in the world
