It first began to be cultivated culturally in Mexico. It was brought to Europe by Spanish colonizers and European merchants, first to Spain, Portugal, and later to Italy, France and other countries. Tomatoes were considered a poisonous plant at first and were grown by gardeners only as an ornamental plant
And in the middle of the 18th century, it began to be widely grown even in Russia. Tomatoes entered Central Asia, including Uzbekistan, through Russia.
