2 b Listen to the radio programme about great musicians of Uzbekistan and say: who it is about, where he came from and what he is famous for.


3a. Read the text and give it a title.

Students read the text one by one and translate it simultaneously. New words are written on the blackboard as well.
3b. Work in pairs. Answer the questions.

  • Have you ever been to “Umid Yulduzlari”?

  • E.g. Honestly speaking, I have never been to this festival.




  • Would you like to go to “Umid Yulduzlari”? Why/why not?

  • E.g. I am really passionate about attending to this festival. Because, I love music and it will be a good chance to meet new music talents.




  • Would you like to take part or to listen? How do you think you would feel?

  • E.g. well, I would like to take part as it is more enjoyable and fascinating. For me, attending to a live event gives more pleasure rather than listening.



Additional information: Review of the lesson, doing exercises, listening to audio files, watching video lessons, movies, reading books, magazines, answering questions.


Assessment: Marking pupils according to their homework and activities during the lesson.


Home task: P 53. Read the new words and their meaning. Translate the words in bold.
Further exercise: make up 8 sentences using new words.
