There are many educational institutes that emphasize the importance of learning multiple foreign languages, while some do not consider it important.
Learning multiple languages allows children to develop their cognitive abilities, improves career prospects and communication skills, hence I believe it is very important to learn them at an early age.
One of the important reasons to study foreign language at an early age is that it stimulates brain development. Every day, a child is exposed to new words and vocabulary which he has to learn. Memorizing new vocabulary thus activates their cognitive muscles and encourages brain activity. Furthermore, it leads to improving a child's problem-solving ability, as they learn to cater to multiple language nuances.
Secondly, learning multiple languages improves their prospects of having a successful career. Due to globalization, graduating students need to apply to different countries to secure a good job. Thus, having prior knowledge of a foreign country's language allows them to adjust relatively swiftly to local conditions. Countries such as Germany and China are prime examples where knowledge of local language would immensely help in landing a good paying job.
Last but not the least, learning multiple foreign languages improves the communication skills of children. The fact that they can communicate with a wider range of audience, globally, means they become more confident in their innate abilities. It hence becomes easier for them to convince individuals and use their language knowledge to their advantage.
I believe foreign language study is very important, particularly in the modern world we are living today. The knowledge allows students to become global citizens and communicate with people from diverse regions, allowing deeper understanding of traditions, cultures, customs and values.
Thus, to conclude, while there are educational entities which do not focus on teaching foreign languages to students, there are others which in fact do know the importance of it. Teaching children foreign languages not only stimulates their brain development from an early age, but prepares them for a brighter prospect and I believe it is imperative to teach them such skills at an early age.
