Copper and its alloys . Brass is an alloy of copper, the main alloying element of which is zinc. According to the amount of alloying elements, brasses are divided into the following types.

For example: alloy L90 - brass contains 90% copper, the rest consists of zinc. The letters and numbers on the brand of alloyed brass indicate the alloying elements in the alloy and their percentages. Bronze is an alloy of copper with tin and other elements ( aluminum, silicon, manganese , lead beryllium). These alloys are used to make details in friction pairs (sliding bearings). Special bronzes include aluminum, nickel, silicon, iron, beryllium, chromium, lead and other elements.
