You can still find there old palaces, mausoleums and minarets which became only more beautiful and grand as the millenniums go by. It’s not a surprise that these places cradle ancient spirit: they used to be main cultural centers of Central Asia . I was born and raised in Tashkent .So I can say without any doubt that Tashkent is the beloved capital and big metropolis, the most important city of Uzbekistan, because this city is the capital, the administrative center of the Republic and very unique place where ancient East and modernity are the best neighbors. Tashkent is prosperous metropolis, which population (more than 3 million people) growing with every day. This city has changed the most around all of the other cities of Uzbekistan because of its special status of capital.
Tashkent is undoubtedly an oriental city, but at the same time it soaked features of different epochs. The form of Tashkent changes depending on the angle you’re looking from: you can see very ancient and legendary buildings with blue domes like in the oriental fairy-tale; you can travel back to the times of Turkestan governor-generalship with its full of Europe elegancy buildings; you will see standard a little bit boring architecture of the Soviet period and gorgeous building of Navoi Theater built the same time. Center of Tashkent will meet you with the most modern buildings and skyscrapers that you’ve ever seen, stretching up to the sky and shining in the friendly and warm light of Tashkent sun. Walking down the wide streets, going into flourishing parks and gardens of Tashkent, you will understand why it is lovingly called “the city of fountains”. Going down to the Tashkent metropolitan you will be amazed with the beauty and uniqueness of decoration of every single station. You will definitely love this amazing city of Contrasts!
The TV Tower of Tashkent is one of the new sights of the city. It was built in the times of Soviet Union. Tashkent’s TV Tower is one of the biggest towers of the world. Being on the top of it, you will be amazed by a breathtaking sight of the city. This tower is a 375m three-legged monster. Don’t forget your passport, you will need it to visit the tower. In my opinion , importance of Festivals that they unite people and they come together for the sole purpose of celebration and happiness. Other than that, festivals also help us embrace our culture and religion. They are very helpful in breaking the monotony of life. Moreover, people look forward to festivals all-round the year.
There are holidays in Uzbekistan. Certain holidays are national, other religious, another sub-category of Uzbek holidays refers to those which came to the culture of Uzbekistan and densely settled in it since the Soviet times.
Holidays and memorials are established with the aim of preserving centuries-old traditions, observance of folk customs, taking into account their importance in the formation of high morality, and for enriching the spiritual life of citizens. Uzbekistan holidays and memorable dates are celebrated throughout the country. The state supports the initiatives of citizens, authorities and public institutions, commercial and non-profit organizations in terms of arranging and holding celebrations and other significant events.
National holidays of Uzbekistan reflect the path traversed by the Uzbek people in its struggle for independence, sovereignty and integrity of the country. Each Uzbekistan holiday has its separate story and special significance for the people. As an example, such holidays and festivals of Uzbekistan as: Navruz, Ramazan Hayit and Kurban Hayit came from antiquity. The traditions of Zoroastrianism and Islam, from time immemorial have been living in the mode of the Uzbek people. The residents of Uzbekistan pay tribute to the international significant dates: New Year - magical and beloved holiday in the world and the International Women's Day.
If I am talking about etiquette of Uzbekistan. Hospitality has a long history of tradition in Uzbekistan where the guests are treated with utmost courtesy and given best possible treatment from the Host. Being proud of this tradition we are recommend you to follow some rules bellow: You can greet a man shaking his hand but woman, would be enough if you just make a light bending forward of the head. Better not to get inside the Uzbek’s house with shoes but if the owner makes it you should follow his step. It is necessary to take off your shoes when you are going to enter some specific places like religious. No need to wear special cloth but you should cover some open parts of your body including hands and legs. Ramadan is the special month for Muslim people. It is a time of act of abstaining from eating
