Objectives: to introduce the topic of the lesson; to warm up.

STEP 1:Ask the pupils to look at the pictures, listen to the song and find the picture this song belongs to.

Answer key: The picture with a kid’s birthday.

STEP2:Ask the pupils to look at this picture and say what they see there. say that this is the picture of a birthday party in England. Ask whether we celebrate birthdays as they do.

Possible answer: nowadays many children in Uzbekistan celebrate their birthdays in a similar way.
