Mary Leakey

Birthplace: London, England (1913)
Field: Palaeoanthropology
British palaeontologist Mary Leakey is notable primarily for discovering the first fossilised skull of Proconsul, an extinct primate that existed approximately 25 million years ago and is now thought to be an ancestor of human beings. She found the skull on Rusinga Island, a small island in Lake Victoria (that lies within the borders of Kenya).
The Proconsul skull was far from Leakey's only discovery, though - over the course of her career, she discovered no fewer than 15 new animal species, and 1 new genus. In 2013, 100 years after her birth, Mary Leakey's face appeared on both a Royal Mail postage stamp and a Google doodle.

Anne McLaren

Birthplace: London, England (1927)
Field: Developmental Biology
Millions of people currently walking the Earth were born via IVF (in-vitro fertilisation). This technology, which first yielded results in the 1970s, has allowed many would-be parents to conceive children they would otherwise have been unable to have.
Dame Anne McLaren's work was instrumental in the development of IVF as a viable solution to infertility problems. She was an officer of the Royal Society - the first woman to hold the position - as well as a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She was sadly killed in a car accident at the age of 80, but her name lives on to this day: The Anne McLaren Memorial Trust Fund was founded after her death to support scientific study and events.

My specialty.
Let me introduce myself. My name is... I am from. ... I finished the secondary school in ... and the same year I entered the Belgorod Agricultural Academy. I had a lot of pets at home. I wanted to know as much as possible about animals, such as the famous book by Charles Darvin "On the origin of the Species". The veterinary helps animals, and animals play a great role in our life.
I think that we must increase units for the fattening of cattle, pigs, and poultry for the production of pork, beef, eggs and milk. The transfer of animal husbandry to the industrial basis sets a great task for the veterinary science. In future we will have to carry out the complex investigations on the problems, which are of great importance for the development of animal husbandry. We should apply the achievement of science and advanced experience in our practical work.
Veterinary service should pay particular attention to the organization of veterinary work on industrial livestock and poultry farms to prevent the spreading of infectious diseases.
The study at our department is very interesting. On the fourth and fifth course we begin a scientific research work. This work will help us in future work
At present due to the tremendous labor of thousands of veterinary scientists and practitioners the veterinary- sanitary status of cattle breeding has been improved, mortality has reduced: occurrence of infectious and non-infectious diseases has lowered. In future we must produce various drugs and preparations promoting resistance of the animal body to harmful conditions of environment and accelerating growth of animals.
We will have to pay attention to the veterinary sanitation and hygiene because they are the foundation of human health, well being of animals good quality of animal production and high culture of cattle-breeding.
