Using somatisms in phraseologic units of

The theme of the qualification paper is “Using somatisms in phraseologic units of Modern English and Uzbek”.
The word-stock of a language is usually enriched by units of language such as: words, word-groups and/or by phraseological units. The main difference between words and phrases lies in their form and meaning. A word is a smaller unit than a phrase. Phrases appear in languages describing the nation’s character, traditions and customs. As every nation has its own history, customs and traditions, the common history of humanity connects common things and phenomena such as: nature, war, animals, food, plants etc. And phraseological units consider the parts of human body are one of the main among them.
Phraseological units come to be a very numerous part of English. Idioms cover a lot of drawbacks of the English language and it is one-third part of the colloquial speech.
The aim of the qualification paper is an attempt to study all the aspects of phraseology and analyze phraseological units with somatisms in English and Uzbek.
To achieve the set aim we determine the following tasks:

  • to classify the main types of phraseological units;

  • to analyze the structure of different types of idioms;

  • to reveal national and cultural properties of phraseological units;

  • to analyze contrastive typology of the English and Uzbek phraseology;

  • to analyze the methods of teaching phraseology in English at schools.

The object of the work is the vocabulary system of the Modern English and Uzbek .
The subject of the work is using somatisms in phraseologic units of Modern English and Uzbek.
As the material for our research we used idioms taken from dictionaries and fiction.
For gaining the mentioned aim we used the following methods: description, observation and comparative analysis.
