The formative assessment does not impact final grade , it just show students’ understanding of the topic. For the assessment I used planned formative assessment. According to Dixson ( 2016) “ Tests, quizzes ,and homework exercises are considered as planned formative assessment that it is used to assess student progress”. Summative assessment After two moths students will pass IELTS exam , it will be summative assessment for them . According to Harlen (2010) summative assessment is used to decide if a student qualifies for rewards, determines whether they should go on the next grade level , and determines their eligibility for special programs ( such as gifted and talented education). In the real IELTS exam students do full reading tasks, based on British standards, they do 40 reading question, and they not only do true , false type of reading but also other types of reading . The students want to up their level , they would like to get 6.5 and 7 band from IELTS.
