Writing for academic lyceum and vocational college pupils

   Brainstorming. Ask the pupils to write adjectives which describe character and appearance

   Now watch the video about describing a person and make notes.

   Ask the pupils to draw the face of a person in the top right-hand corner of the page and give the person a name. In the left hand corner ask them to write 5 more adjectives describing character of their man. After that ask them 3 thing that their man like doing and with whom the man lives. Dictate the following sentence to your pupils: 'It was a dark and stormy night and'. Stop at this point and ask them to write in the name of the person they have drawn and followed by the word 'was'. Then ask the pupils to complete the sentence from their imagination and add one more sentence. Once all the pupils have added a sentence to their stories, get them to stop and pass the paper to the pair on their right (this means that every pair of pupils now has a new character)
