In December 1991 Islam Karimov was elected President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on an alternative basis to a five-year term of office. -1991-yil Islom Karimov O’zbekiston Respublikasining Prezidenti deb saylandi doimiy 5-yilga.

Uzbekistan has been recognized by 120 Statesof1 the world as an independent entity by the International Law.-Jahonnong 120-dan ortiq mamlakatlari O’zbekistonning mustaqilligini va uning xalqaro qonunini tan oldi.

Retaining close contacts with CIS states, Uzbekistan intensively expands political and economic co-operation with other countries on an equitable basis, striving to separate economic relations from political ideology.

Politically and economically the Republic of Uzbekistan is one of the most stable states among the CIS member countries. –CIS mamlakatlari ichida O’zbekiston

SAMARKAND

Samarkand is one of the most ancient cities of the world- samarqad dunyodagi qadimiy shaharlardan biri. Samarkand stood at the cross-roads of caravan routes and played an important role in the economic' ties of the countries of the East- Samarqand karvon yo’lida joylashgan bo’lib iqtisod rivojlanishida muhim rol o’ynaydi. Many centuries ago, it was a centre of ancient civilization- bir necha yillar avval samarqnd qadimiy madaniyat markazi bo’lgan.. Modern Samarkand is a city of Uzbekistan ranking second after Tashkent the capital, the city of Samarkand covers 77,9sq/, and population numbers over half million- zamonaviy samarqandning mavqeyi o’zbekiston poytaxti toshkentdan keyin ikkinchi o’rinda turadi.yer maydoni 77.9 kv km va aholisi yarim mln dan ziyod.

Samarkand had a difficult history – samarqandn juda mashaqqatli tarizga ega. The city is associated with the names of Alexander the Great, the Arab general Kuteib ibn Muslim, the terrible conquerors Genghis Khan and Amir Temur and the astronomer Ulugbek- shahar Buyuk Aleksander, arab amiri Qutib ibn muslim, chingizxon, va Amir temur nomlari bilan qo’shib tilga olinadi. Visitors who come to this city admire the artistic talent and skill of the ancient architects who created such amazing structures as the Shakhi-Zinda ensemble, and the Bibikhanim mosque, the Gur-Emir mausoleum, the Ishrat-khana mausoleum and the Ulugbek, Sherdor and Tillya-Kari madrasahs in Registan square- tashrif buyuruvchilar, ya’ni samarqndni ko’rishga kelganlar uning buyuk istedod bilan qurilgan tarixiy binolari shohi zinda ansamble, bibixonim masjidi, guri-amir maqbarasi, ishratxona , ulug’bek sherdor va registonlarni ko’rib hayratga tushadilar .
