Abstract: In the future, quantum computing is expected to revolutionize computing technology, allowing for much more complex problem solving as quantum computers will be even faster and more powerful, capable of performing calculations that are exponentially faster than current computers. Additionally, quantum computing could open up new possibilities in cryptography, making it much harder to crack encrypted data, in artificial intelligence, drug development, and materials science being able even to revolutionize the way we communicate and store data. Major companies such as IBM, JP Morgan Chase, Microsoft and Volkswagen, and countries such as Japan, China, and the United States have started researching this sought-after technology in depth.
