On the banks of the Jamna River near the city of Agra, Shah Jahan built it after his death (July 7, 1631) for his beloved wife Arjumand (known as Mumtaz Mahal Begum, Mumtaz Bibika Rauza). Ahmed Lahori) was built u under the leadership of the Turkish architect Muhammad Isakhan Efendi. T murabba design, 3 floors, 5 domes. Built on a marble platform (104x|04x7 m). Thin minarets (bal. 45 m) at the 4 corners give the mausoleum a special charm. The walls are covered with white marble, and step by step patterns are made from precious stones of different colors (pearl, pearl, mother-of-pearl, amber, emerald, ruby, ivory, .).

In front of the mausoleum, there are 2 rows of trees planted, a pond with a fountain, and a long path with flowers. You can go up to the marble platform with stairs and enter the mausoleum through the carved door. A large domed room in the middle houses a black marble sagana (imported from Sri Lanka). T.'s incomparable beauty of the garden. is clearly visible through the gate. In the construction of the majestic building, the unique styles of architects not only from India, but also from Central Asia, Iran, and Byzantium were expressed. Bricklayer Muhammad Hanif from Kandahar, Muhammad Syed from Multan, local craftsman Ismail Khan Rumi, Muhammad Sharif from Samarkand, took part in the construction of the mausoleum.
