Reflection 1

Grade: 4

Name of activity: interesting objects

Time: 10-15 minutes

Materials and preparation: box or bucket with a wide variety of small objects ( we can also use a wide different pictures)

The main purpose of this activity is to enhance speaking skill of young learners. In other words, by describing some simple objects, they can easily improve their speaking.

The objects should be related to previous topics, which they were taught before. Especially, they do not know so many words, so usage of difficult words should be avoided by teachers.

Procedure: I asked the students to select an interesting item from a box of random materails and talk about how it represents some aspect of the program. Tge use of the object as a metaphor for the experience often leads to engaging and intersting comments thay would not otherwise have been made.

1. Each participant selected an object from the box. The box contained many more things then there were participants in the group to give more ample choice for them.

2. Once each participant selected an item that was interesting to him or her, asked him or her to share how that object represents some aspects

This activity helps students to improve their speaking and communication skills.


One of the advantages of this activity is involving all the students in the class.
The disadvantage ones is some of the students could not speak English langauge well.
Reflection 2

Grade: 5


Name of activity: past tense ( grammar)

Time: 15-20 minutes

Materials: worksheets, pictures, pen

The main purpose of this acrivity to activate the students' background knowledge. Of course, this helps them to improve their grammar skills.

Procedure: First of all, I distributed worksheets to students and explain it to them. I divided them in group of four, and ask the students to write sentences based on the given pictures and words. After that, each student present their sentence they have wrote in the worksheet in front of class. Finally, students retell the story using simple past tense correctly.

I realized this activity has some stengths and weaknesses. The stength of this activity was involved all the students. Every student was able to write simple past tense verbs and also understand tge content.


The weakness of the lesson was some of the students could not speak fluently.
I really felt that the activity that I have created for this particular age was very suitable
Reflection 3

Grade: 5


Name of activity: semantic maps ( vocabulary)

Time: 10-15 minutes

Materials: pen, blackboard, worksheets.

The main purpose of this activity to acrivate the students' background knowledge.



Procedure: I chose a word and displayed it for the class on a blackboard. Students read the word and then they thought of words that come to mind when they saw that word ( that was awesome because it revised their prior learning). A list was created of all of the words that come to mind, and then those words were categorized. I used rhis acrivity for a whole class.
Students then created a "map" and discussed it. After that, they read through the text they could add related words to the map.
I really felt this activity was so suitable for their age. As well as, this is one of the best way to acrivate their prior knowledge.
Of course, there were some difficulties with passsive srudents. However, I really tried to encourage them to participate in this activity. At the end of the activity, I felt happiness because my students liked the activity. And they wanted to do such kind of activities again.
