Importance of reading in learning foreign languages

More and more people are witnessing great desire for learning new languages 
day by day . However, as starting is always a bit difficult , beginners usually face 
with questions like “ What I should start from ?”, “How I can improve my all skills 
simultaneously ?” , “How I should learn new vocabulary for using them in a 
correct situation ? “. For finding answers these questions, knowing importance of 
reading is very essential for many reasons which we will write in this article. 
Connection between reading and other skills. 
Reading helps you with your vocabulary. Regardless of your proficiency level, 
reading is beneficial for many reasons, especially in your vocabulary 
improvement. One of the most common mistakes which novices make is 
growing passive vocabulary by learning without knowing how use them. They 
get dictionary books and learn a bunch of vocabulary. Although they are well-
informed about their definition, they can not put them in correct situation. 
However, during reading, when you run into new expression, you can write it 
down and pay attention to whether that phrase shows up later in the text so that 
you can see in which situations you can use it. Some expressions may have 
multiple meaning which you can find out by reading. Even if you read a word 
for the first time , you can find out its meaning from context, which means that 
you know how and when to use it right

At first , you may need spend more time on reading something and on 
understanding the context but over time, you will be faster and more and more 
expressions will be familiar to you.
Effect of reading on grammar. Grammar is one of the most difficult step in 
learning every language since Memorizing every single grammar rules can be 
boring . But without it speaking and developing other skills is impossible. 
Therefore we can also make it easier by reading. With reading , you can see 
grammar patterns, find out grammar exceptions and learn difficult sentences 
structures which you can use in your writing
Role of reading in speaking. Improving speaking without improving reading is 
impossible. By reading, your mindset grows unconsciously as a result, you do 
not have problem with finding ideas that is the most vital for speaking and 
writing test. Another benefits reading provides us is possibility to sound like a 
native speaker. Because, if you read more with loud voice, you start to imitate 
natives. That, of course , can not happen overnight. It takes a lot of time and 
effort. But trust us, after lots of attempts you will be surprised. 
As for writing skills, this is something you improve with reading without being 
aware of. That’s one of the best part. After reading stories, articles even news, 
you can try to rewrite it with paraphrasing. And also as we mentioned before, 
you can develop your idea bag by reading, it may be magazines, journals, 
stories, articles or news. 
You can read anything you want and seems enjoyable. 
As we wrote, trying to improve other skills without reading is vain 
By increasing reading desire, you will be able to show better results.

Thus, we can not deny significance of reading, but another problem is giving 
encouragement to ourselves to read more. You will be informed about ways 
which are considered advantageous for inspiring wishing for read in following

1.Do not make reading chore. Even though reading is compulsory activity for 
you , do not force yourself read anything which you hate. It should be 
enjoyable and stress-buster activity. If you can not get into a book, move onto 
new one. The world fulls of books which you should read. If you do not keen 
on reading , firstly try to find easier, shorter, and more interesting thing for 
you. 
2.Create reading schedule. Like anything else , reading also gets easier with
practice . .Everyday dedicate your time on reading , even if it is just ten 
minutes. Do not forget choose the best time to read. However, it does not mean 
always wait for that time you should create it. It could be in queue, doing house 
chores, or even driving car ( by using audio books ).So bring your books 
everywhere. And always obey this rule. Even one exception may affect badly. 
3. Don not afraid making experiments with genres. Do not limit yourself only 
one genre. People enjoy different experiments. Continuing it till find best genre 
for yourself. Whether 
you are reading fiction or nonfiction books, it’s 
important to enjoy what you read. Your friends may recommend books that 
they love, but those books might not necessarily be the ones you enjoy.
