In the beginning he just living a simple life nothing bad is going on at this moment of his life. Kino shows stress out because his son gets stung by ascorpion and they go to the doctor but the doctor doesn’t like helping to them.Then kino goes diving in the ocean and finds a pearl.Suddenly a man tried to steal the pearl ,but Kino and a man fought.At the end Kino ends up killing him.During the falling action ,they walking up the mountain and Kino turns to his wife telling her should stay .And he goes ahead and lured the trackers .

By the end ,they walking in to the area were he lived and keeps walking past eveyone with no emotion on his face ,he and Juana walk to the beach and Kino pulls out the pearl and he throws it into the water .

I think that Kino has regret of what his action were with the pearl and wanted from the pearl too.

Characters

• Kino-The protagonist of the novella .He is a hardworking ,impoverished native who works as a pearl diver .He is a simple man who lives in a brush house with his wife and son.After Kino finds a great pearl,he is hoping to find it in a different way .Because Kino believes that this would save his family,he persists ‘’though many obstacles ‘’that accompany the pearl.He carry on keeping the pearl but, in the end ,it was not worth keeping

• Juana-Kino’s wife ,is a secondary character.She is a loving woman who cares for her husband and son.Throughout the experience, she remains loyal ti her family but also perceives the evil forces that the valuable pearl unleashes

Coyotito- is Juana and Kino’s infant son .He is their only child ,so his parents do everything they can to protect him.Dispite his parents’love and effort ,he is subject to much harm ,both before and after the pearl is found

Juan Tomas,Koni’s brother ,is wise and loyal .In the beginning ,Juan Tomas warns Kino of the destruction that wealth may bring,demonstrating his love for his brother.He is one of the few characters that does not seek to gain from the pearl and shows he values the importance of family ties
