Guessing the meanings of the words from the context

  1. Mauled - [mɔːld]- If you are mauled by an animal, you are violently attacked by it and badly injured.

  2. Vilified - If you are vilified by someone, they say or write very unpleasant things about you, so that people will have a low opinion of you.

  3. Remorse - [rɪ'mɔːs]- Remorse is a strong feeling of sadness and regret about something wrong that you have done.
