As we know,transport has played and is still playing a great role in the progress of the world.They make the longer ways shorter,harder journeys easier even more enjoyable.In the ancient times people had to use camels,horses,donkeys when they had to go somewhere far away.In India and some African countries the main way of transporting were elephants.Centuries passed and there appeared new means of transport such as cars,trains,planes and etc.

Among them cars are the most wide-spread one.Since its invention there appeared some new makes of the cars.They are not very expensive to buy and everyone who has a good job can afford it.

Trains are cosier for traveling and you can watch the interesting places of the country you are visiting.Besides trains are used to fetch different kinds of raw materials such as coal,wood,ore,cotton and etc.Because it is a cheap way of transporting things.

Planes are the fastest and the most expensive way for a travel and for transporting things.If you like to see the land or you want to arrive earlier you may travel by a plane.The first plane was invented in the early years of the 20-th century and since then the planes have changed greatly.Nowadays there are planes that can carry more than half a thousand people such as “BOEING-727”.By the way the people bring things by planes because it is the fastest way of transporting things. So, the discovery of means of transport is one of the greatest discoveries of the humankind.

Teacher;So,dear students our topic for today discussing about means of transport both in the ancient times and in the modern world.That is to say,you can give your opinions about the means of transport,about how they appeared and the others,please,share your comments.

Bill;in my opinion transport has always been a good helper of humankind.The people of the ancient times needed horses,camels even donkeys as the main means of transport.

Tom;Yes,you are speaking correctly.But I would like to say that these animals are still good helpers of man.In some regions where the cars are useless people have to use these animals.For example in the mountainous areas of America people use lamas,in eastern countries people still use donkeys and horses widely.

Ali;By the way,in my country,people used to ride camels both in the ancient times in caravans and nowadays they use the camels in some outermost areas.

Leyla;The transportation vehicles have changed greatly since the last decade of the 19^th century.Since the first railways have been built,trains have become a good facility for people.They can either travel by trains and send large piles of raw materials,as it is the cheapest way of transporting

Max;We should never forget about cars when we are speaking about the means of transport.As we know the first cars were made in the latest 19^th century and since then some wonderful makes of cars have been invented.

They make the long tours shorter and you can stop wherever you want.

William;And,babies, you forgot the planes.It is not secret that,since its first invention in 1908,it has played a great role in the progress of the world economy.Well,it is rather expensive for a traveling or sending goods but it is the fastest way for transporting goods and raw materials.

Li Fen;Let me say my opinion.I think it is the bicycle that played a great role in the world progress.It is cheap,light to carry and you will not need any gas to use it.Besides,it was the bike which won the “Invention of the millennium”
