The building of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Karakalpakstan was established in 1924 by the Karakalpakstan Aftonomium . The city of Turtkul (formerly PetroAleksandrovsk) is designated as the capital. Since 1932, the capital was moved to Nukus. The Karakalpakstan Republic has 15 regions. More than 1.7 million people live in Karakalpakstan. Most of them live in agriculture and animal husbandry. Karakalpakstan is currently developing economically.

Large renovations were carried out at the railway station Nukus in 2016. This station contributes greatly to the economical development of the Karakalpakstan Republic.

This is the 2008 stadium . This year, the Barkamol Avlod Sports Tournament was held in Nukus at Turan Stadium  

Imam-Ichan Muhammad mosque in our capital. This mosque has been renovated by the decree of the President. Next to this mosque, "Jannet Bagi" was built

A musical fountain on the Dosliq Canal, which crosses the city. This fountain is a cultural holiday for our people. It is a musical fountain built for the first time in Karakalpakstan
