Abstract. It is important to obtain sulfur concrete by modifying technical sulfur obtained as a result of oil and gas processing in the territory of Uzbekistan. Production of sulfur bitumen based on synthesized polymer sulfur and analysis of its physical and mechanical properties. Optimum conditions for obtaining polymer sulfur from technical sulfur were determined and its structure was explained by spectroscopic methods. The optimal amount of polymer sulfur required for the preparation of sulfur concrete mixture has been scientifically proven. Samples of sulfur bitumen were prepared based on synthesized polymer sulfur. The change in the mechanical strength of sulfur bitumen samples depending on the storage period has been scientifically analyzed.

Currently, several productions in the chemical, petrochemical, metallurgical and gas processing industries generate waste gases containing hydrogen sulfide and other acidic components (SO2, CO2, and organic sulfur compounds) (Atakhanov A. 2019). Due to the fact that sulfur compounds show high corrosive properties and cause great damage to the environment, their disposal is of great practical importance (Ivansky M. 2007). One of the most common ways of processing sulfur compounds is to convert them into a safe product – sulfur (Atakhanov A. 2022) Also, due to the sulfur contained in natural gas and oil, natural sulfur reserves will increase fivefold (Saidmurodov R. 2023). Therefore, the development of new effective catalysts used in the extraction of sulfur from sulfur compounds in natural gas and oil is of great importance (Kucharov. 2021).
The sulfur used is oil residue from the Mubarak gas processing plant in the Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan (Fig. 1).

There is a lot of domestic livestock in Uzbekistan today. Several steps must be taken to modify sulfur. In the modification of sulfur, chemicals developed by the laboratory staff of the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry are used. Sulfur and bitumen, which are mainly local raw materials, are modified during this work. Sulfur is heated without increasing the temperature of 135-140o C, and during the heating process, sulfur is mixed until it becomes dark and reddish in color. This process should not be less than 100-120 minutes. We take the modifier 4% by weight of sulfur (Fig. 2).

After the sulfur is dissolved, the modifier is added and the mixing time should not be less than 30 minutes. In another vessel, the bitumen is heated until it becomes anhydrous and then mixed with modified sulfur (Fig. 3).

The viscosity of bitumen is determined by the penetration depth of the penetrometer needle. Each degree on the instrument indicates that the needle has sunk into the bitumen by 0.1 mm (Fig. 4).

It has been scientifically proven that when sulfur is first polymerized to increase asphalt biton properties, its properties are further improved. In which technical sulfur is heated to 125-130 °C while rotating at a speed of 71 rpm. When heated, a modifier of 3% by weight of sulfur is added and stirred for 80 minutes.
