Topic: Feelings and Emotions
Level: 7th Grade
time: 40min
Prepared by: Ubbiniyazova Ulmeken.
Aims:

  • to develop students language skills;

  • to enlarge the range of student’s vocabulary on the topic “ Feelings and emotions”

  • to develop ability to learn and use the words relevant to the topic in their written and oral communication.

  • to enhance student’s use of appropriate strategies for building and strong vocabulary.

Objectives of the lesson:

  • to enable students to achieve new words and practice using vocabulary in speech.

  • to enable students to spell letters in new words

  • to enable students to understand active and passive vocabulary on the given topic.

Skills to be emphasized: Listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Materials: Handous, photos, videos, listening tracks, textbooks and etc.
Procedure of the lesson
Pre-Activities
Activity 1. Warm-up (10min)
Objective: to elicit different ideas from studentds asking questions.
Materials: handout
Procedure: Teacher ( T) asks students (Ss) some questions.

  1. How do you understand the meaning of feeling and emotion?

  2. What kinds of emotions do you know?

  3. Now how are you feeling youself ?

Activity 2. Explanation of new vocabulary by using drilling technique.
Objective: to aid memorization and interpret the meaning of topic-related words.
Materials: workbook.
Procedure: T tell a new word Ss repeat after teacher. then Teacher tell the translation of new word.
While activity
Activity 3. Listening to track. How did the speakers feel about their experiences? Comlete row A of the table with the conversation numbers.(3min)
Objectives: to raise Ss’ awareness about new words.
Materials; Audio track1, handout 1.
Prosedure; Ss. Ask the students to look at the table in Exercise 4 and say what each emotion means : bad, Ok , good, very good. Stop after each conversation to allow students to complete the table.
Evaluation: assessment criteria; 2min
If students can respond 5 or 6 questions, he/she will be marked with “5”
If students can respond 4 questions, he/she will be marked with “4”
If students can respond 3 question , he/she will be marked with “3”
Grammar: Past simple of be
Teacher explain orally the rule of past simple of be. Positive, negative and questions and short answers by reading example sentences. (10min)
