The procedure of the lesson:

  1. Organizational part:

  1. Greeting. Check student’s attendance. Ask monitor of group to give the list of absent students. Good afternoon dear students! How are you today? … 5 min

  2. Write on the board CCCC – and ask what does it mean and where we can use it. Is it new or not? 5 min

Warm-up
Teacher projects images of different animals on the board and students should name the animal and say if it is a domestic or wild animal. Learners guess the topic of the lesson.
The topic and LOs are presented.
5min RESOURCES:PPT
Presentation activity 1.
Learners complete the mind map in their copy-books, where they write the names of animals they already know.
Teacher plays video on YouTube about the animals body parts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szEzGwsdwmg
Learners listen to very attentively, then write down new words.
Teacher and learners work over the pronunciation of new words.
(Feather, wings, claw, fur, beak, scales, tail)
Practice 1.
Teacher hand out the worksheet 2 with pictures of different animals parts, children should label the pictures.
Assessment: peer-checking
Feedback:
Teacher projects the correct answers on the board.
Learners check each other`s works and give assessment according to the criteria:
Excellent: 10-11 correct answers
Very good: 9-8 correct answers
Good : 7-6 correct answers
Satisfactorily: 5 correct answers.
Presentation
Teacher projects three images of animals on the board: fish, bird, lion.
Learners should find out which parts they have in common, and which parts of bodies are different.
Common: body, head, tail, eyes.
Different: fish- scales, fins; bird: feather, beak, wings, claws; lion- fur, ears, teeth, paws, legs, nose
Practice
Teacher distributes handouts worksheet 2. (Teacher based assessment)
Learners describe animals on the pictures (what animal is it, what colour is it, which parts of body has it got.)
Feedback:
Teacher monitors, checks also makes notes how well learners can remember body words and how carefully then can spell the vocabulary on the worksheet. (Teacher based assessment)
Excellent 10 points (17- 20 correct answers)
Very good 8 points (13-16 correct answers)
Good 6 points (10-12 correct answers)
Satisfactorily 5 points ( 9-6 correct answers)
They change round and spell the other five words. How many can they spell correctly a second time?
