Welcome to the Department of Economics!

 

Please read this welcome letter carefully in order to 

stay updated on important deadlines for the upcoming 

semester.

Dear Exchange Student

 

Teaching 

begins on

Erasmus students

 

Erasmus students must sign up for a total of 30 

ECTS each semester.

If you are enrolled on an Erasmus-agreement with 

the Department of Economics specifically, you are 

required to place a minimum of 22.5 at the this de-

partment. This leaves 7.5 ECTS to be taken at 

another department

However, if you want to do courses at the 

Department of Mathematics-Economics or 

Computer Science, you are welcome to do a mini-

mum of 15 ECTS here. 

The above rule does not apply to Erasmus-students 

enrolled on an Erasmus-agreement with other de-

partments. 

Course registration

Course registration for new international students runs till 

2 January 2018

.  

If you want to avoid clashing lectures, classes and exam dates, 

be careful to check the schedules in the course descriptions 

on www.kurser.ku.dk. 

You register online by following the step by step guide on our 

website.

Important

: If you have to change a course due to problems 

with your learning agreement or the like you can do so until 

11 January 

(for courses with lectures and classes) and 18 

January 

(for courses with lectures only) at the latest. 

After 18 january, your courses are binding. 

In case of no course vacancies, the Study Administration will 

contact you for alternative course choices. You will be able to 

view your courses and exams in the selfservice in KUnet just 

before the semester begins.

 

Learning Agreement 

 

You must send your learning agreement and other 

documents for signature to [e-mail]. 

      Once forwarded, it will be processed by the 

           Study Administration and returned to you 

              electronicaly.

Exams 

Exam period: December and January 2017/2018. 

Resit period: January and February 2018.

Almost all our exams are electronic and digital written ex-

ams. 

You can find  an overview of all exams and exam types in 

KUnet once you have gained access.

Application for an early exam date

If you cannot participate in your exams due to academic 

obligations at your home university, you can apply for an 

early exam. 

Please do so by sending a email explaining your situation to 

[e-mail] - deadline.

Open house event at the exam location

If you are not familar with written digital exams  - that is, 

using an electronic pen and windows computer, we recom-

mend you to join the Open House event at the exam loca-

tion.

A number of Open House events will take place during the 

semester. You can find  the dates for the Open House events 

on the student intranet once you have gaines access. 

The Student Intranet - KUnet

KUnet is the intranet for students enrolled at the University 

of Copenhagen. 

In KUnet you find:

 

Your student email account

Once enrolled, we no longer contact you on your private 

email - only on your student email in KUnet.  So remember 

so redirect your mail from the student email to your private 

one, if you want to stay updated. 

Absalon 

The e-based learning system that gives you access to all 

course material and slides from our lectures. All communica-

tion with teachers takes place in Absalon.

Your study pages 

All rules, regulations, procedures and  study related informa-

tion is described in detail on your study pages in KUnet. If 

you have any questions - consult the study pages in KUnet 

first thing. 

You can log on www.kunet.dk once you have received a 

student ID and created a password.

Introduction Meeting

We recommend that you attend the 

Introduction Days just before semester start. 

Here you will get a chance to meet and have a 

chat with students, professors and administrative staff mem-

bers at the Department of Economics.  

The program for the introduction days will be posted later 

on the Faculty website for new master students - in the right 

hand menu.
