Critical review of the article, “The history and typology of Uzbek, Russian and English language” by Sh. J. Alimardonov, G. Sh. Boboqulova,Termiz state university.
The article which I am going to write about is “The history and typology of Uzbek, Russian and English language” written by J. Alimardonov and G. Boboqulova. Authors of this article try to provide information about the historical and typological background of abovementioned three languages and use the works of different linguists who have done many researches on this field. However, there are many shortcomings can be observed easily.
Firstly, they do not focus on the history of Uzbek, Russian and English languages, instead of giving proper information about them, they want to show difficulties in teaching English schools, in spite of the title of the article.
Secondly, in the introduction part, it is said that they would provide a lot of examples and finding in Uzbek and English languages, however, they only provide readers with theoretical information and theories of different linguists.
Thirdly, they do not analyze and discuss the views of philologists deeply. They only give their theories and findings and do not discuss and contrast these views with each other. In my opinion, after writing these views, they should give the final proper solution to the problem. But they only revolve around the theme.
To sum up, I would like to say that, one who is going to write an article, should decide “what she is going to write?”, “is there enough information and findings about this theme?” and “ how is she or he going to support these giving theories?”. Besides, in the end of an every article, there should be some conclusive opinions about the discussing issue and the author should give her or his own point of view about the theme. This makes the article more reliable and valid.
