CONCLUSION

Middle English was a beautiful language. It had enough similarities to our contemporary English that if enough effort is put forth, understanding can be wrought from the writing. However, the ebb and flow of the language is vastly different. There was an elegance to Middle English that seems to have been lost over the years. While what we speak and write today shares the name "English" with what was spoken and written back then, the language has evolved almost to the point of being unrecognizable. And it may be a pity, because a lot of the beauty was lost, but the evolutionary nature of language holds a beauty in and of itself, no matter what path the language takes. 

Endings of the noun and adjectives marking distinctions of number and case and often of gender were so altered in pronunciation as to lose their distintinctive form and hence theior usefulness.Some of these changes have been found in old English manuscripts.

On the other hand, on relation the noun, in the middle English period only two methods indicating the plulral distinctive : fithe s or es from the strong ,masculine declension and the fien from the weak.

The verb during the middle English period became weak.The weak conjucation offered a fairly consistent pattern for the past tense.

In relation with the loss grammatical gender,one of the consequences of the decay of inflections was the elimination of grammatical gender.The result of contact between the English language to the French language did not affect in the changes of grammatical structure.According to the French influence on the vocabulary,cultural relations between French and England in all subsequent periods have furnished a constant opportunity for the transfer of word.In the way of ecclesiastical words in monasteries and religious houses French was the usual language, also.

The period of greatest ;influence was the half of the twelfth century from 1200 to 1250.
