Ko‘pgina ravishlar sifatga –ly qo‘shimchasini qo‘shish bilan yasaladi. Bunday usul bilan yasalgan ravishlar holat, darajalovchi va ba’zi gap ravishlariga to‘g‘ri keladi.

Aynan –ly qo‘shimchasini sifatga qo‘shib ravish yasashda quyidagi qoidalarga rioya qilinadi.
1. Agar sifat –le bilan tugasa, e tushib qoladi va o‘rniga y yoziladi. gentle – gently
simple – simply possible – possibly 2. Agar sifat undosh+y bilan tugasa, -y tushib qoldirilib, o‘rniga i yoziladi va ly qo‘shib qo‘yiladi.
happy – happily pretty – prettily 3. Agar sifat –l bilan tugasa, ly qo‘shiladi.
awful – awfully beautiful – beautifully
careful – carefully 4. Agar sifat –ic bilan tugasa, -ally qo‘shiladi.
dramatic – dramatically magic – magically

5. Agar sifat e bilan tugasa, -ly qo‘shiladi.
polite – politely nice – nicely 6. Quyidagi so‘zlar –ly bilan tugaganligiga qaramay, ravish emas, aksincha sifatdirlar.

costly – qimmatga tushadigan deadly – o‘limga olib keluvchi friendly – samimiy
likely – ehtimolga yaqin lively – quvnoq

Yuqoridagi sifatlar bilan way/manner otlarini qo‘llash yoki boshqa usullardan foydalanish yordamida bir necha so‘zdan iborat ravish yasash mumkin.
She smiled in a friendly way/manner. U samimiy jilmaydi. He complained in a cowardly way/manner. U qo‘rqoqlarcha shikoyat qildi.
He gave a silly laugh. U ahmoqona kuldi.
She gave me a friendly smile. U menga samimiy jilmaydi. 7. Quyidagi so’zlar ham sifat, ham ravish bo’lishi mumkin.
hard – qattiq deep – chuqur
near – yaqin fast – tez, tezkor
early – erta straight – to’g’ri
high – baland low – past
late – kech long – uzun
free – tekin right – to’g’ri, haq
wrong – noto’g’ri, nohaq
