The Functional Glass-Composite Coatings
for Protecting Steel Products

Abstract. Of all the technologies of corrosion resistance of
steel products is the most effective silicate enameling. The arti-
cle describes the technology of functional glass-composite coat-
ings for corrosion protection of steel products, such as pipes,
the relevance of their use, the current trends in the resource
sector. Nowadays enamels used are mainly two-layer, with a
sufficiently high firing temperature, so that despite their good
performance properties, they are considered non-technological
and uncompetitive cost. Application of resource-saving tech-
nologies to reduce consumption of energy and materials to
manufacture by eliminating several processing steps. This pa-
per presents the development of energy-saving technology of
applying enamel coatings «two layers-one firing» with curing
additives for ground enamels.
