Cotton seed shape - elongated, elliptical. Using the example of the shape, size and other features of cotton plant seeds determine the parameters of the sowing disc.
When foundation the structure rotating disc parameters, it is necessary to bottom on the geometric parameters of the cells, as well as the shape and thickness of the disc. Analytical relationships which allow determine the basic parameters and regime of operation of the rotating sowing disk on the horizontal axis, located transversely to the direction of movement of the pneumatic planter were researched.
In the pneumatic sowing apparatus, the seed sticks to the hole of the sowing disc and is separated and drawed from the seed mass depending on the seed properties, friction and natural slope angles, seed mass height in the receiving chamber, radius and rotation speed of the sowing disc, hole size and due to the rarefaction of the air in the suction system.[12] Seed sizes are used in the selection and justification of the parameters of the sowing discs cells. Knowing the minimum width of cotton seeds, we can say that when choosing the hole diameter of the sowing disc, its upper limit should be 3.5 mm. This is dictated by the fact that the minimum seed thickness is 3.75 mm. The smallest cotton seed will not be able to pass into the specified size hole, but will stick to it. Thus, the passage of seeds into the hole of the disc and clogging is excluded. As for the optimal hole diameter, it will be established during the research [13]. The working hypothesis is that it is possible to increase the sowing accuracy and get heaped clusters due to the mutual arrangement of both the holes themselves in the group and the housing wall, which blocks the formation of vacuum in the holes. In this case, the seeds from each group of holes alternately from different heights fall along their trajectories to one place at the bottom of the furrow, forming a cluster. By cluster sowing the quality of cluster formation depends on the speed of the aggregate, the parameters of the sowing disc, the angle of seeding and the required distance between the clusters. The choice of the diameter of the sowing disc should be based on design considerations and in terms of the completeness of the technological process execution. According to requirements when cluster sowing, the seeds should be placed in groups (two or three) at certain distances in the bottom of the seedbed. To do this, the construction of the sowing disk with several rows of suction holes on the it᾿s working surface is proposed. [14] |
