c) If no peripheral devices have been connected, connect e.g.
headphones to your
computer.
My computer has peripherals. For example, there are additional microphones, web
cameras and printers.
3. Does the computer you are looking at have a LAN i.e. Ethernet connection port?
Yes, of course
.
4. Is it possible to use a WLAN with your computer?
Yes, of course.
EXERCISE 3 – Peripheral devices and storage media
This exercise takes a look at peripheral devices for the computer.
1. Which printer is more cost-effective when printing large volume, an inkjet or laser
printer?
In the past, the cost of a laser printer was lower. And for an inkjet printer, it would be
necessary to constantly buy cartridges. Because they did not last long and at the same
time were very expensive. Things have changed dramatically in the last decade: inks have
become ten times cheaper and easier to find. Printers with direct refilling of the ink tank
have appeared on the market. They also cost less to print because the ink tanks in these
printers have been enlarged to hold 70 milliliters of ink and even more.
2. What do you need if you want to transfer a text from a paper document to a word
processing program where you can modify the text?
I don't know about that.
3. You often use both your computer at home and a computer
at the university for
processing the same material. What storage medium is most suitable for your needs?
In such cases, I often prefer flash memory.
4. You have finished a project that is 48 MB in size. You want to archive it and make a
backup copy of it.
