Anglicisms in Russian and French advertising: globalization and language policies

The growing influence of English on national languages has been a topical issue for many countries for over half
a century. Several countries, such as Russia and France, introduce language policies in an attempt to regulate the
use of foreign languages. The goal of this article is to determine the efficacy of such policies
through the analysis
of advertising texts that use Anglicisms. Another goal is to discern the reasons behind their ever-growing usage.
