Piglet, large white, female, low to medium fat, 3 months, White. Belongs to the Chortut farm.
The autopsy of the body took place on 12/12/14 at 9:00 in the “Body Autopsy Room” of the Department of Anatomy, Physiology, Surgery and Pharmacology of Animals, Pastdargom District, Samarkand Region.
Anamnestic data. According to Vetvarch, in December 2014 there was an outbreak of gastrointestinal disease among piglets. Piglets are regularly vaccinated against colibacillosis and salmonellosis. Piglets are malnourished, sleep a lot and have a body temperature of 40.5 to 41oC. then diarrhea, sometimes with cough, shortness of breath and weight loss. At the end of the disease, general weakness, diarrhea, and bruising on the skin (ears, armpits, abdomen) occur.
Clinical diagnosis - salmonellosis.
Appearance. The body is cold, hardening is not developed. The mucous membranes of the recess, mouth and vagina are light red, the mucous layer of the posterior outlet is dark red, swollen, slimy.
The skin is elastic, with reddish-blue patches on the skin of the ears, chin, chest, belly and legs, and the area around the rear opening is contaminated with liquid yellow dung.
The subcutaneous tissue is thickened, fibrous, and low in fat.
Skeletal muscles are brown, superficial lymph nodes (jaw, lower side, neck) are partially enlarged, reddish-gray, the cut surface is hollow bones, the joints are motionless.
Internal view.
About 15 ml of red shiny fluid in the abdominal cavity, the location of the organs is anatomically correct, the peritoneum is moist, smooth, bright red, the diaphragm is about 7 ribs.
Also in the chest cavity there is about 10 ml of reddish liquid, the location of the organs is anatomically correct, the pleura is smooth, moist, shiny bright red.
The tongue has a light red mucous layer, the cut surface is bright red, the muscles are developed.
Spleen and esophagus - mucous membranes are reddish-brown, the path is empty.
In the larynx there is a large amount of foamy-gray liquid, the mucous layer is white.
Lungs - enlarged, dark red in color, dough-like consistency, the cut surface is moist, shiny, the scapula of the lung is in heavy water, the mucous membranes of the bronchi are gray-red, foamy liquid is in the way.
The heart is round-oval in shape, the epicardium is smooth and shiny, the cardiac muscle is dark red, and there are dark red blood clots in the chambers of the heart. The endocardium is smooth, shiny, the heart valves are elastic.
The spleen is partially enlarged, the edges are opaque, the consistency is hard, trabeculae are clearly visible on the cut surface, and there is a lot of fat content.
The liver is enlarged, dense in consistency, dark red in color, a lot of blood flows from the incised surface, the gallbladder is full, the grass is greenish-brown, the mucous layer is yellowish-green, the grass paths remain passable.
The buds are partially enlarged, reddish-brown in color, the membrane is slightly separated. The cut surface is indistinguishable from the layers of bark and pith.
The stomach is filled with a liquid yellowish-green compound, the mucous membranes are swollen, red, wrinkled, covered with a blue elongated semi-shiny mucous membrane.
The food of the small intestine is liquid, cloudy, green in color, with a pungent odor, the mucous membrane is swollen, reddish, slimy, covered with a substance. The 12th finger has red spots on the intestinal lining and parts of the intestine are filled with gas.
The large intestine consists of loose, gray-green stool with a pungent odor. Some parts of the intestines become swollen and gas accumulates. The mucous membranes of the appendix and small intestine are swollen, with a grayish-sandy coating with folds.
The bladder is filled with a large amount of shiny yellow urine, the mucous layer is light red, smooth, moist, shiny.
Pathological diagnoses:
1. Diphtheria colitis.
2. Acute catarrhal gastroenteritis.
3. Acute hyperemia of the liver and kidneys.
4. Enlargement of the right ventricle.
Final diagnosis: Based on anamnestic data and pathological changes, it was confirmed that the piglet died from salmonellosis.
