The object of research is the cities that emerged and developed in Uzbekistan from ancient times to the beginning of the twentieth century.
The subject of the research is the history of urbanization processes in the regions of Uzbekistan, formation, emergence and evolution of cities, patterns of urban development
Research methods. The thesis uses such methods of scientific research as historicity, source study, scientific and comparative analysis of data, chronological consistency, scientific approach to the problem, while adhering to the generally recognized principles of scientific research
The scientific novelty of the research is as follows
The impact of the historical and geographical location of cities and trade and economic factors on the rapid development of political, socio-economic, cultural and migration processes on the territory of modern Uzbekistan from ancient times to the early twentieth century has been substantiated;
Proved, through comparative analysis, the factors that influenced the formation and gradual development of the first cities in Uzbekistan or their crisis, local features of urban development and the commonality of their development;
the role of development of cities in the region during the ancient and early medieval periods, the economic and cultural impact of cities located along the Great Silk Road on social development, and the size and structure of the city on the social and governance system characteristic of the period
Justified the importance of traditional forms and structures of cities, palaces built on foundations, urban governance, and their importance as political and cultural centres on the processes of urbanisation in the developed Middle Ages, and the early 19th and 20th centuries.
