At the theatre.

The primary activity which we associate with a theatre is a play or a stage- play.But this is by no means the only one: opera, ballet, musicals, variety, circus, puppet shows, mimes, recitals and a lot of others cannot be excluded. The 20^th century brought great changes into the theatre. Cinema, radio, television and video altered the course of the major performing arts and created the new ones. But still there are hundreds of theatres, large and small, all over the world, where the audiences are excited at the prospect of seeing a play and the actors are most encouraged by the warm reception.
What are the theatres like today? Let’s go to one of them. They have put a new play at this theatre which is very popular with theatre- goers.
Passing through the revolving door we come to the box- office where the tickets are sold.Luckily we booked our seats a few weeks ago or we would not be able to get in, because for this play all the seats had already been sold.It is so popular that this is the second time it has been produced here.
