Purpose of the Study

The purpose of this study is to, measure the level of pupils’ acquisition of English Reading Component Skills and also to assess the pupils’, teachers’, parents’ and experts’ preference of language of instruction in Primary School grade 5 in Sokoto State Nigeria. However, the study will identify the relationship between the pupils’ level of reading component skills and their academic achievement.
