RESEARCH - 2022 133 Literary translation is a high art. A translator is an artist just like a writer. He recreates a work of art written in another language in his native language, preserving the unity of the form and content. The difference between them is that the writer has a great deal of freedom and he can write on any subject, in any style, using any words and phrases. However, the capacity of the translator is limited, the subject, the idea of the work he translates should not deviate from the author’s purpose, style and language features, within which he rewrites the work in his own language, based on the laws of his own language. It’s easy to just say “rewrite” the process. To start with, literary translation requires a perfect knowledge of two languages, especially native one. The translator must be able to convey to the reader the artistic and pictorial means of the work he is translating, its stylistic aspects and artistic colors, effectively using the opportunities of the native language, in short, to create a work of art. The translator must be feel and be in the same position as the author of the work being translated. Since the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a lot of research has been conducted in the field of translation studies, especially in the field of history of translation, numerous books and articles have been published. The book “History of Translation” by O.Muminov and O.Sunnatov also covers the history of translation from ancient times to present. It also states about the life of translators and the principles of translation. N. Komilov is also a scientist who has done a lot in the field of history of translation. He studied, analyzed, and illuminated Ogahi’s translating activities. N. Komilov carefully studied Ogahi’s works, and considers him a writer, historian and translator who has written in all three fields as a sensitive poet, profound scientist and skilled translator. He analyzed and studied his works “Ravzat us-Safo”, “Nosirnoma”, “Zafarnoma”, “Zubdit ut- Hikoyat”, “Nasihatnomai Kaykovus” and others, which he translated with a great skill. In addition, N.Komilov conducted some research on Khorezm school, its representatives and their works. He explained about the life, living standards and translating principles of translators of Khorezm school of translation. |
