Abstract:
Psychologist often finds himself in a situation where the statement “you
left-handed child "hears the parent's hasty answer:" What are you, I have it normal!"
However, after completing a series of tests and making sure of his own left-handedness, the
same parent suddenly recalls distant moments from his childhood, when in habitual
movements, he himself was forced to change his comfortable hand to the one with which he
forced to use adults. And the emotion that arose in those forgotten times violently finds
himself in the present.
Left-handedness as an explanation that the child must have problems is very
convenient. How often, bringing a child to a psychologist, parents and educators learn about
his left-handedness and calm down - everything is fine, left-handed people always have
problems. But whether it? Don't all right-handed kids have problems? Obviously it's not
simply because there are significantly fewer left-handers than right-handers, and there are
enough problems in any children's team. Moreover, there are many left-handed children,
possessing a variety of talents, and only their parents know about their left-handedness or
no one knows. In recent years, science has made significant progress in investigating the
causes of why people can be left-handed or right-handed. However, this knowledge is rarely
move from scientific publications to popular or practical ones. That is why it is so there are
often outdated misconceptions about left-handedness.
Keywords: left-handedness, left-handed and right-handed, ambidexters, intellectual
