So that left-handers process information faster, adapt more easily to the environment and are often talented in a variety of areas. Milbry, E. Dixon, J. Herron and others tries to find the main reason of left-handedness and the influence it to the abilities. Russian scientist E.I Nikolaev worked on analyzing left-handed children which interested me with its detailing this topic. In fact, handedness determines by hand which is used to write and to do most of actions. However, he believes that people accidentally use different hands to do different actions, wherein one of the hands makes small movements while another one makes big and heavy movements. In his opinion handedness is the advantage of the right or left hand observed in a person in the strength of dexterity and hand speed. If person’s left hand is faster- he is left-handed, if his right hand is faster –right- handed. In addition Nikolaev underlines people using both hands simultaneously fast to do works and these kinds of people are called ambi-dextor. Nikolaev also considers three causes of left-handedness: hereditary transmission of a trait; intrauterine or birth trauma; influence of environmental factors. The researcher also claims that there is no exact evidence that left-handedness can be transmitted from parents. Using an example, he describes the research work of scientists who repeatedly tried to develop a line of mice, all individuals of which would prefer the left paw. To do this, they crossed left-pawed mice, then only left-pawed mice were selected from their offspring, and |
