Details of the play « Body snatchers »

  • In the beginning of the book, the events are described in the small parlour of the George at Debenham. The first words are about the old Scotchman called as Fettes and his life. Another events are continued with the coming of Dr. Macfarlane.

Some strange vocabularies

  • Begone !
  • Unimpeachable eye-service
  • Qiud pro quo
  • Cras tibi

During the translation, I met some kind of vocabularies have foreign structure like :

Quid pro quo

Cras tibi

  • According to translation methods, there are two : direct (literal ) and oblique
  • The first using of technique from oblique method is title of that book : «Body snatchers » - « Tana óģrilari »
  • Equivalent technique:
  • Hold your tongue

And I also used a borrowing technique too in many parts of the play. The most used technique is borrowing technique in my translation.

  • Overall, I had some problems with idioms and phrases in this translation work. But I can tell you it was somehow difficult, but it has an enjoyment too. Really, it was enjoyable for me because of it is my first translation work. I learned more about the translation methods and now I can use from all of them.

Thank you for your attention!!!
