#3: REALIZE FAILURE IS A STEPPING STONE
One of the biggest things that slows down people’s learning speed is their emotional response
when they get confronted with failure. Some people quit... others get disheartened... while the
world’s highest achievers understand that failure is simply a stepping stone to
bigger and better things. Instead of avoiding failure, they use failure to learn more, faster.
Imagine if as a child, while you were learning to walk or talk, you got disheartened when you fell
or said something incorrectly, and you just quit learning those things. How different would your
life be today? Really think about it. Instead, when you were learning those things, you
understand that falling over or failing were simply stepping stones for you to learn those skills.
You didn’t get sad, instead, you used failure as fuel for greater learning.
I’ve spent more than 5 years of my life studying the world’s highest achieving people. I’ve also
travelled all around the world and taught thousands and thousands of people from stages all
around the world… and I am yet to find someone who has become great at what they do without
some type of failure along the way. It’s because... those people don’t exist.
Failure is part of the process of learning. It’s important we understand that and realize
that failure is simply a stepping stone. With that mindset, you’ll learn anything, faster.
ONE LINE SUMMARY:
‘Failure is inevitable. However, realize that failure is simply a stepping stone to better things.’

#4: TRACK YOUR PROGRESS
Peter Drucker, the famous management consultant, educator, and author once said, “What

gets measured, gets improved,’’ and few things come closer to the truth. When we chart

our learning and track our progress, we tap into greater self-awareness and that self-awareness
leads to new action and new results.
A study was done a number of years ago. They took a group of people who wanted to lose weight.
They told them NOT to make any conscious changes to their diet or exercise routines. The only
change they wanted the people to make during this study was to write down what they ate &
what exercise they did during the days of the study. That’s it. They repeated this study multiple
times, with every time bringing back similar results. The people in the study kept losing weight,
even though they they were told not to make any conscious changes to their diet or routines.
Why? It’s because, when we track, psychologically, we become more self aware (kinda like,
‘Damn, I’ve eaten a lot today’), and we start to unconsciously take new action & reap new results.
One of the fastest ways to increase your learning speed is for you to frequently track the KPIs
(Key Performance Indicators) you want to improve.
ONE LINE SUMMARY:
‘When you track your progress, you put your mind to work and it starts to move you forward.’

#5: REMOVE CONFUSION
Any time we have confusion around what we are doing, it creates inefficiency. And,
when you remove that inefficiency, it will help you learn anything faster. This is the reason why
strategic planning before you begin learning anything is critical; it give you clarity for the
journey ahead.
If you want to learn faster, go through your learning routines, your scheduling, your learning
strategies, and any resources you use to learn what you are learning, and remove any confusion
you may experience. Think ahead, foresee any confusion you may experience and
remove it. Create greater clarity in what you do.
Create a plan that gives you clarity. For example, ‘’I’m going to learn this topic between 7AM &
