INTRODUCTION
The academic policy of the Caspian Public University (hereinafter CPU) is the main set of rules and procedures governing the planning, organization and control of educational activities aimed at ensuring the quality of education and the implementation of student-centered education, as well as the formation of the university as an advanced center of education for the formation of highly professional competencies and personal development. The academic policy was elaborated by the Academic Department as part of the implementation of academic independence of universities and is intended for students, teaching staff, structural divisions of the university that organize the academic process, and other persons supporting the educational process. The purpose of the Academic Policy is to regulate the educational process, create a system of control over the quality of training, improve the rights and responsibilities of students, teaching staff, heads of structural divisions of CPU employees, ensure operational management and implementation of functional activities for servicing students and all types of work. The Academic policy of CPU is based on the principles of academic integrity, internationalization, science, educational innovation and responsibility for ensuring the quality of educational services. All the provisions of this Academic Policy are applied for organizing educational and methodological, organizational and technical processes, research and professional work of students under the programs of higher and postgraduate education at CPU. This Academic Policy is considered at the meetings of the CPU’s Board of Studies and is effective from the date of approval. The academic policy is mandatory for all structural divisions of the University, teaching staff, employees and students. Compliance with the requirements of the Academic Policy is ensured by: First Vice-Rector-Vice-Rector for Teaching and Methodological Work (TMW), Director of the Academic Department (AD), Director of the Center for Student Services (CSS), Deans of the Institute/Academy/High Schools and Leaders of educational programs. Officials, teaching staff, employees and students are subject to disciplinary measures for violation of the Academic Policy requirements in accordance with the current legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and internal regulatory documents of the university. The Academic Department shall coordinate the execution of the provisions and requirements of this document. The validity period of the approved Academic Policy is 2 academic periods (academic years). Academic policy is reviewed and updated: - changes in the requirements of regulatory documents regulating educational activities in the Republic of Kazakhstan; - changes in the strategic development plans and the CPU Charter; - based on the results of the CPU educational activities audit; - based on the institutional and specialized accreditation results. The current Academic Policy is supposed to be changed and amended on the basis of consideration and approval by the CPU Board of Studies when the executive body - the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan amends regulatory documents. Issues and processes not included in this document are resolved within the framework of coordination taking into account the interests of students and the university. Academic policy includes the procedure for registering students for educational programs, recording attendance at training sessions; conducting current, interim and final controls; arranging for students all types of practices; assessment of students’ knowledge; rules of transfer, readmission, expulsion of students; final assessment, etc. Download 170.79 Kb.
