LESSON 1. PRESENT “TO BE”.
Ingliz tilida fe’lsiz gaplar tuzib bo’lmaydi. Shuning uchun agar gapda fe’l bo’lmasa biz “to be” dan foydalanamiz.
My car is new.
Xozirgi zamonda “to be” ning uch xil shakli bor:

• 
  “am” - “I” bilan ishlatiladi. I am a student.
  
• 
  “is” - 3^rd shaxs birlikda ishlatiladi My friend is twenty years old.
  
• 
  “are” - “you” va barcha ko’pliklar bilan ishlatiladi You are right. My parents are very old.
  

Structure:
P: S+to be… This book is mine.
N: S+to be+not… This book isn’t mine.

LESSON 2. PAST “TO BE” (O’TGAN ZAMON).
O’tgan zamonda “to be” ning ikki xil shakli bor:

  “was” - “am” va “is” ning o’tgan zamon shakli va u I va 3-shaxs birlikda ishlatiladi:
  

I was at home an hour ago. That man was at the party yesterday.

  “were” “are” ning o’tgan zamon shakli, va “you” va hamma ko’plilar bilan ishlatiladi:
  

You were a little girl when I was studying at university. They were in the garden at 5.
Structure:

N: S+wasn’t/weren’t… She wasn’t at work last night.

LESSON 3. “TO BE” NING KELASI ZAMON SHAKLI “WILL”
