1.3 The variety of books which can make a positive effect in developing reading skills
As it was mentioned above, young learners want active, fun and interesting enough activities to get motivated for learning more. The majority of researchers mentioned that there are lot of positive sites of integrating books into language teaching, which means that books emphasize the main objects in language teaching. It means that learners will better understand and remember the language they learnt. In the other hand majority of students have some problems with reading due to the English classes. The main case that they are lack of spoken English practice. Including books is one of the well-organized techniques that provides special features to improve and enhance reading skill. It means students can take part actively to speak with each other and being involved in a real communication. The main point is that teacher should make small groups equally, which means in each group should be also passive and active students. Moreover, different types of books give equal chance for the students’ attendance. For instance, the vocabulary books encourage and make the student being involved into the learning process. The main rule of communicative game that teacher should follow the context by syllabus. In addition, teacher have to prepare appropriate tasks for the students’ level of knowledge of the foreign language. The main types of books will be explained below.
Educational books are intended for lexical and grammatical skills and for train the usage of reading for communicative approaches. The one of educational game is phonetic books. Phonetic books are using by teachers for train learner to pronounce the sounds correctly. Moreover, that type of game helps student to train the memory and ability of differentiation the sound by its brevity and longevity.
The most popular game among the phonetic is «Define the sound». During this game teacher shows a card with vowel or consonant sound, then students find the word, which consists of this exact sound. Those, who will find more appropriate and correct words will win the game.
Vocabulary is all the words known and used by a particular person. Vocabulary is a set of familiar words within a person’s language. It usually developed with age as useful and fundamental tool for communication process and acquiring knowledge. Acquiring an extensive vocabulary is one of the largest advantages in learning a second language. Learning vocabulary is a big part of learning any language. The more English words the student know, the better he/she can communicate your needs, ideas, thoughts and feelings with native speakers. There are several types of vocabulary and there are two main types:

  • Receptive vocabulary;

  • Productive vocabulary.

The receptive vocabulary (also known as passive) refers to all the words that can be understood by a person, including spoken, written and manually signed words.
The productive vocabulary generally refers to words that can be produced within an appropriate context and match the meaning of the speaker.
Another type of game, which can be used in educational process is vocabulary books. The vocabulary game includes the activities, which focused on the knowledge of words. Moreover, students train themselves on usage of their lexicon in real-life situations, can activate the speech and mental activity of the brain and explore the speech reaction of the child.
In general, vocabulary books are those books, which include the increasing of language level and wordplay. In addition, that type of game can strengthen the vocabulary skills. The vocabulary books are also building a good relationship between teacher and students in the groups. Through the game learners can learn a variety of necessary skills for them.
The first successful game for students is called «Hangman». Due to this game students will explore new words and the definition of them. Teacher will choose the exact word and will not say it to students. Teacher will write the dashes; the quantity of dashes should be as much as there in the exact word. Students will say the letter one by one, if it is correct letter teacher will write it on blackboard (whiteboard), if it is incorrect teacher will draw a part of body on blackboard. The more parts of body teacher drew, the greater chance of failing the game.
Another game, which connected with vocabulary is «Taboo words». In this game teacher chooses the word, which students should not say during the game, (yes/no; and/for; etc.). Due to this type of game child will explore the structure of synonyms and increase their lexicon.
The last and most successful game in reading classes is «Guess who? game». Student has something in his/her mind such as thinking about another person or it can be a thing, place and participants can only answer like “yes” or “no”. By this way players will know about what he/she thinking about.
